Description
Information is collected via mail questionnaire with telephone follow up to all providers (100% census) of selected types. In 1991 (the last time the inventory was conducted), the inventory included nursing and personal care homes, licensed board and care homes, home health agencies, and hospices. The source of the information is the financial and administrative records of the provider. The individual provider is the record unit in the inventory database. More recent national provider data are available from samples of long-term care providers in the National Nursing Home Survey, the National Home and Hospice Care Survey, and the National Survey of Residential Care Facilities.
