The FAIR Health National Private Insurance Claims Database, FH NPIC Database, includes data from 2002 to the present for more than 15 billion billed services, and reflects the cost of care and utilization experience from plans covering over 129 million privately insured Americans. This resource will advance research on a wide variety of topics including geographic variation in cost and utilization, adherence to best practices and clinical protocols, economic disparities in the distribution of healthcare resources, the effectiveness of health policies and health interventions, the impact of legislation and regulation on healthcare access and outcomes, and emerging epidemiological trends.

The nation’s largest collection of private medical and dental claims data is now available to researchers and policymakers seeking to study patterns, trends and geographic disparities in service utilization and private healthcare spending. The FH NPIC Database offers aggregated data modules known as FH Benchmarks and standard analytic files comprised of underlying claims, FH NPIC SAFs.
